How It Works
I like to keep things as simple and comfortable as possible, which
means lots of natural light -- usually outdoors -- although I will use
minimal artificial light in the studio when needed. Most of my
sessions last 60-90 minutes, so you won't need to worry about
spending half a day finding that "perfect," elusive shot.
Preparation
First, I meet with you to discuss the kind of picture you have in mind.
This is also when I get a sense of your personality and the best
approach to our shoot. We'll discuss clothing choices, along with
hair and makeup. Since my goal as a photographer is to capture you
at your best and most natural (why take a photo that looks nothing
like you?), I usually discourage heavy makeup and styling. This also
complements my shooting style, which favors natural light, either
outdoors or in a studio.
inate clicking and whirring in the hope that sheer volume will result in something worthwhile.
Instead, I frame and compose each shot individually, not pressing the shutter until I see something special. Not only does this save film, money and
time spent agonizing over endless choices afterwards, it keeps both of us focused on the task at hand. If something's not working, we'll simply stop
and figure out a better approach.
So, if you like what you see, please drop me a line (type 'Headshots' as the subject), and I'll be glad to show you how quality and budget can go hand
in hand.
The Session
During the actual shoot, I take great care to make sure each frame
contains something I think we'll both like. That means no indiscrim-
(not the photographer!)
